Parker says no economic development plan is Dysart’s biggest challenge

Janis Parker, running for Reeve of Dysart et al believes council can outline an economic development plan in six months. She thinks the fact that the municipality doesn’t have one is its biggest challenge. Her plan is to partner with community members like HCDC, the Chamber and local businesses to put it together. Based on the fact that our average wage is 35 percent lower than the provincial average, we have some serious work to do, says Park. She’s looked at economic development plans in other municipalities, and says the plan will help to set goals that will achieve results.
