Junction Skate Park is $1,000 richer after a donation from the Haliburton Lions Club.

The Lions announced Saturday on Twitter that they had presented a cheque for $1,000 to the governing body of the skate park.

According to the Lions, the money came from the first annual Haliburton Craft Brewers Festival that went on in the summer. The skate park, which also had its first event this summer, has had several fundraising efforts help the park itself open to the public. Six members of the Lions club were on Hand to present the cheque to members of the park’s governing body.

The Lions say that the next Craft Brewers Festival is happening in July of next year, with no word on what the proceeds of that event will go to.
