Craig MacDonald Receives AGBA Community Recognition Award

The Algonquin Gateway Business Association has named their 2018 community recognition award recipient.

The AGBA is a group of businesses and people dedicated to improving businesses and promoting tourism in Haliburton County, they operate in Highlands East and Dysart et al. Each year at their Annual General Meeting they acknowledge the charitable work of members of the community with a recognition award.

Owen Trefry, the President of the AGBA, announced that Craig MacDonald an employee of Foodland in Wilberforce as this year’s winner. Trefry says that MacDonald is “a real community person,” adding that MacDonald is always sponsoring local sports teams and is a strong advocate for shopping locally. Trefry says that MacDonald also works with food banks.

According to Trefry, MacDonald uses the ad revenue from advertisements posted on the wall at the Wilberforce Foodland to donate to charity. The money brought in through the advertisements meant McDonald is able to donate $6,788.
