Two townships are looking to hire, one a treasurer and the other a Deputy Fire Chief.
Algonquin Highlands are the ones hiring a treasurer, with Minden Hills hiring the Deputy Fire Chief.
People applying to the Deputy Chief position should have a minimum of 10 years experience as a firefighter and at least three years of officer experience for a municipal service. As well, the applicants need the appropriate NFPA certification, as well they will need valid first aid certification and a valid DZ license. According to Algonquin Highlands, if you want to apply to be the next treasurer you will need a post-secondary or university accounting designation, you will need to complete the municipal finance and accounting program, and “significant demonstrated management experience.” The township says that interpersonal skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, January 9th.
