Municipalities need to step up to address access to recreation says health promoter

Access to recreation is a key impact on the community says Angela Andrews. She’s a Health Promoter with the local health unit and she says her role in the Health Matters at the Council Table campaign is to encourage council support for recreation.

Andrews says it’s key to make those decisions around the municipal table, and these are some ways they’re hoping councils will address it:

Andrews says recreation is good for your health but also helps reduce the burden on our health care system. She says councilors need to be more proactive to maintain and support recreation initiatives.
