Haliburton’sĀ annual festival could see some government money to up the marketing of the hiking extravaganza.
Amanda Virtanen, the Director of Tourism in Haliburton County, got the approval of County Council to apply to theĀ Celebrate Ontario 2019Ā program.
Virtanen says she is looking to get $10,000 from the program. The purpose of the funding is for better marketing of the annual hiking festival says, Virtanen.
According to Virtanen, aside from the marketing funds for Hike Haliburton, they are also seeking out funding for an event being planned for 2020.
The deadline to apply for Celebrate Ontario is January 9th.
