The cost to rent recreation centres in Algonquin Highlands will stay what they are until council can decide on a policy for waiving fees. Back in May, council decided to increase the fee due to higher costs for heat and hydro. Ever since, council has continued to make the tough decisions when requests come forward to waive or lower fees for certain community groups. The price was set to increase again in January, but councils agreed to wait until they can create a fee structure and decide when to accept requests to waive or lower fees.
