Snowmobile Association holding bridge dedication for former president

The Haliburton County Snowmobile Association is heading to Algonquin Highlands for a bridge dedication.

According to HCSA, on February 23rd the association, as well as Algonquin Highlands Mayor Carol Moffatt, will be going to the Beech River Bridge for a ribbon cutting and dedication of the bridge.

HCSA says with the help and “significant contribution” of the Algonquin Highlands Township and the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs, the association was able to invest $58,000 to reinforce and level out the bridge.

The association explains that the bridge is part of one of Ontario’s busiest trails and that it is going to be renamed in memory of former president Peter Overington.

HCSA says the ceremony is happening at 1:00pm on the 23rd and it will be located at Dominion Road at North Shore Road.
