Parents are getting the chance to hear from a dietitian about the best food items for kids.
The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge Health Unit is encouraging families to take advantage of an event they’re calling “Meet the Dietitian”. According to Bill Eekhoff with the health unit, the event is going on twice in the month of March, in Haliburton on March 14th, and in Minden on March the 19th.
Eekhoff says the program is designed to give parents the chance to meet with and talk to an HKPR registered dietitian about what to feed infants, toddlers, and preschooler. As well, it is expected to teach parents about healthy snacks to feed the young ones, and the whole family.
If you are looking to attend either, the one in Haliburton is happening at J.D. Hodgson Elementary from 10:00am to noon. The one in Minden is happening at Archie Stouffer Elementary also from 10:00am to noon.
