The Health Unit says there is plenty to digest from meeting with Dietitian

The health unit is looking for people to take a bite of its Meet the Dietitian event.

Just over a week away from the first of three events, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge Health Unit is reminding people the good to be had from meeting a dietitian.

Bill Eekhoff of HKPR says that anyone that comes to the Haliburton edition of “Meet the Dietitian” will get to interact with Laura Abbasi, who is going to give tips on how to feed infants and children, as well as go over a two-hour interactive session.

Abbasi says “when it comes to healthy eating and young children, there is a lot of misinformation to wade through and challenges that come with ensuring kids get the nutritional food they need to grow and thrive,” she goes on to say “The Meet the Dietitian event is designed to answer questions and concerns. It’s also a forum to share reliable information, delicious recipes, and take away resources that will help parents and caregivers confidently serve up healthy food for their entire family.”

The first scheduled event is in Haliburton on March 14th at the EarlyON Child and Family Centre at J.D. Hodgson Elementary School. Later in the Month, Abbasi and HKPR will be back in Haliburton County at the Minden EarlyON Centre at Archie Stouffer Elementary.

“Meet the Dietitian” is in March to coincide with Nutrition Month.
