The municipality is looking for the public to get involved in a pair of committees.
Highlands East has spots open on the Housing and Grants Committee as well as the Economic Development and Business Committee.
If you are interested in serving on either, the term for both is four years. Each committee has space for six members.
The Housing Committee meets the first Thursday of each month in the municipal boardroom, whereas the Economic Committee meets the second Tuesday of every month.
The mandate of the housing committee is to find and promote opportunities for housing development.
On the Economic Committee, the members are expected to communicate with community partners to discuss how to spark economic development, business retention and expansion. As well, the committee will be looking at marketing and tourism and other special projects as directed by the Highlands East council.
If you are going to apply for either committee you will need to do so by April 16th at noon.
