Rainfall warning in effect for Haliburton County

Get your rain boats on and the umbrellas out, Environment Canada is warning about heavy rain.

Environment Canada issued the notice at 3:00pm. The meteorological agency says that Haliburton, Minden, and parts of southern Haliburton County, as well as Fort Irwin, Oxtongue Lake and northern Haliburton County,  are under the rainfall warning because the forecast is calling for a minimum 25 millimetres of rain.

The warning comes less than 24 hours after the county was put under a special weather statement for rain. The statement suggested that the county could be getting anywhere from 25 to 50 millimetres.

Environment Canada is encouraging people to check forecasts regularly and exercise caution until the weather leaves the area.

The forecast is calling for sun on Saturday.
