Nearly 700 students compete in TLDSB Skipping Competition

Students from all over the district were skipping for all the right reasons.

The Trillium Lakelands District School Board announced that almost 700 students from 20 elementary schools competed at the annual TLDSB Skipping Competition.

According to TLDSB, all of the schools and students started the competition just before 10:00am with volunteers using a clicker to count every time the competitor’s feet hit the ground.

The school board, creating a sense of pride, says that “Even though this was a competition and some students finished on the podium, every student went home a winner; feeling both happy and proud of their accomplishments – who knows, some may have even made new, long-lasting friendships during the day.”

With the competition done for the year, the school board is extending congratulations to all of the students to compete.
