It is time for local girls and women to gear up, again.
Just two weeks out from the Gear Up Women in Trades event, the Trillium Lakelands District School Board is promoting the event.
The event is happening May 22nd at Fleming College in Peterborough, and it is designed to give young women the chance to get face to face interactions with women working in the trades. As well, the attendees will get to explore the Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre and the various trades jobs that exist.
Originally, the event was scheduled for November 28th but it got postponed indefinitely due to low registration numbers. There was a makeup date eventually scheduled for February 28th, which received enough attendance to run.
