Two charged for not having life jackets while boating

Provincial police are reminding boaters it is the law to have personal floatation devices available (PFD) and are asking passengers to wear them as well.

Members from the Parry Sound OPP were patrolling Clear Lake in Seguin Township Saturday looking for alcohol and drug-related offences. Officers said they ended up charging two people for failing to have PFD’s in their boats.

Police asked boaters in a release to do their parts to keep waterways safe this year. They added along with always stocking the proper safety equipment, to keep cannabis and alcohol out of the boat.
