Pilot deceased in Upper Raft Lake floatplane crash

LAKE OF BAYS, ON- A floatplane pilot from Ramara lost his life on the long weekend.

In an update on the investigation into a floatplane crash on Upper Raft Lake on Monday, OPP confirmed that the person who passed away in the crash was 44 year old Jeff Mavor of Ramara Township, who was piloting the plane at the time of the incident.

The crash had sent six people to hospital with undisclosed injuries, while Mavor passed away.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton had responded to the crash, sending numerous resources to help rescue the surviving passengers.

Officers from the Huntsville OPP are continuing the investigation into the crash, with the assistance of the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
