DYSART ET AL, ON – The municipality is putting out a call for people to join the fire department.

Dysart et al announced on Friday that it is hiring volunteer firefighters.

According to the municipality, the deadline to apply for the job is September 30th.

Some of the other requirements of the job include maintaining a certain level of physical and mental health required to handle the toll firefighting can take on a person.

In terms of actual qualifications, Dysart says the applicants need to have a valid DZ licence, as well as Firefighter Level One and Two training through the Ontario Fire College and first-aid training, which the department will do.

Although the job does not have firefighters working 24/7, whoever gets hired will need to be on call 24/7.

As well, they need to attend a minimum of 60 percent of the weekly training sessions.

Anyone looking to apply needs to send their resume and cover letter to Dysart Fire Chief Mike Iles at the municipality.
