Drugs and weapons found during prison search

GRAVENHURST, ON – The lockdown at Beaver Creek Institution is over, but a lot of banned items were found.

In a release, Correctional Services Canada (CSC) said normal operations have resumed at the prison. The lockdown began on October 3rd.

The organization added an “exceptional search” was done of the facilities. It said unauthorized items found include marijuana, vape pens, pharmaceuticals, cell phones and accessories, needles, tattoo paraphernalia, and handmade weapons.

CSC said it is preventing the entry of contraband by strengthening its measures to ensure a safe and secure environment.
