O’Leary court case adjourned until November 21st

PARRY SOUND, ON- Linda O’Leary will be back in court next month.

Linda is the wife of Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary, and was charged after a fatal boat crash on Lake Joseph in the summer.

She’s facing one count of careless operation of a vessel, which contravened the small vessel regulations of the Canada Shipping Act.

The charge was laid a few weeks after the crash, which killed two and injured three in Seguin, Ont.

The Public Prosecution Service of Canada handles charges under the Canada Shipping Act, and its initial position included a million-dollar fine or prison time for Linda.

They later said that the most she will face is a $10,000 fine with no jail time.

During her court appearance today, a representative of her lawyer appeared on her behalf. No plea was entered, and the matter was adjourned to November 21st.

Richard Ruh, 57, of Orchard Park, N.Y., was also charged with failing to exhibit navigation light while underway, in contravention of collision regulations in the Canada Shipping Act.

He is said to be fighting the charge.
