OPP investigating multi-jurisdictional theft and drug ring

MINDEN, ON-Detectives from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the OPP in the Community Street Crime Unit are investigating several suspects involved in a theft and drug operation.

Since September of 2019, police have been tracking and piecing together information about thefts and drugs across Haliburton, Muskoka and Bancroft.

Police have charged three people with their connection to this multi-jurisdictional crime ring including David Jonathan Mongrain, a 42-year-old from Dysart et Al.

He is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, four counts of theft over $5,000 and two counts of theft under $5,000.

Sean Peter Martin, a 38-year-old from Minden Hills, is charged with possession of cocaine, two counts of possession of codeine, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.

28-year-old Shelby Lorraine Montgomery from Minden Hills is charged with possession of cocaine, two counts of possession of codeine, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon.
