Haliburton library planning to use 3D printing for visually impaired patrons

HALIBURTON, ON-A library in Haliburton is planning on using 3D printing to bring classic children’s books to life.

On December 3rd, Haliburton County Public Library will take part in the first-ever 3D Giving Day. This event combines, according to the press release, technology, education and humanitarian elements all into a celebration for both students and community members from Haliburton County.

These 3D printers will be given to the libraries and schools that aid those with visual impairments so that they may experience their favourite stories in a new way.

Through the use of 3D printing through the 3Doodler, participants can recreate scenes from their favourite books like the Grinch and Whoville.
