Haliburton in the clear at the moment

All of the long term care staff and patients in Haliburton County have tested negative for the coronavirus.

Dr. Norm Bottum says we are still holding steady at a total of 7 cases of COVID-19 in the county, and all of the patients have recovered.

He says “we’re in the clear at the moment as we move into this experiment in easing social restrictions”.

Dr. B says if you’re unwell get screened. The screening centre is still going to be operational all through the week, so call the office if you have any symptoms, or are concerned you might have COVID-19, or were exposed to the virus.

He says “we have to stay on top of this and that it’s all about easing restrictions and testing, and going back and forth. If there are outbreaks, we’re going to have to put restrictions back in place”.

Dr. Bottum says “the federal government has said let’s do this slowly, and every province has their own formula”. He says “it’s going to be interesting as this social experiment goes on all across Canada, who can open up the quickest, without having a flare up of cases”.
