It’s not every day Minden Hills council has a world champion in their chambers asking for a favour. Kurt Browning is champion figure skater and he has a cottage in Minden. He says it’s his second home that he wants to share with the cast of Stars on Ice. He’ll be bringing Olympic skaters to the Minden Arena in April to rehearse their show before they head out on their 25th anniversary tour. Stars like Olypmic Silver Medalists Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, along with Patrick Chan, Jeffrey Buttle and Joannie Rochette are only some of the people he said would be involved. He asked council to extend their ice season because he couldn’t get the crew there until the end of April. Council unanimously agreed and will be hosting the rehearsals which will be open to the public.
