Big Brothers Big Sisters is kicking off their new year with a bang, and they’re already selling tickets for their first event. Jim DeFlorio is the Executive Director and he says the Wing Fest and Dance is an event everyone looks forward to.

Tickets are 25 dollars for the whole night, or ten dollars for just the dance. DeFlorio says they’ll also have a raffle for a 60” Smart TV. It’s happening on January 24 at the Victoria Park Armory in Lindsay.

DeFlorio says the programs they offer cover the City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County.

He says there are about ten kids on the waiting list in Haliburton County, which means they are looking for more volunteers to sign up. While many volunteers say they get just as much out of it as the students, DeFlorio says the benefit is more widespread than that.
