Independent commission into Long Term Care homes in the province

The province has announced an independent commission into long term care.

MPP Laurie Scott says with this global pandemic, and how the virus has evolved, it has been determined long term care has to be re-looked at in almost every country.

She says it won’t start immediately, because we are still dealing with the crisis in long term care facilities. Scott gives a “big shoutout” to our health care system for the “fantastic job done in Haliburton County”.

She says this is going to be ongoing, and we’re going to have to be six feet apart for a while, because the virus just didn’t go away”.

MPP Scott says the pandemic has also highlighted issues with internet access in the province, and she’s continuing to work with her counterparts across the country, talking about how fast we can get broadband connectivity, for high speed internet in our rural communities.

She says it’s a priority for the government of Ontario.
