404 new cases of COVID-19 in Ontario; recovery rate up to 76-percent

Once again Ontario is reporting over 400 new cases of COVID-19.  The province added 404 new cases in the last 24 hours bringing the total to 25,904.  There have been another 28 cases reported in residents of long-term care and 10 more in staff.

Another 29 people have died, bringing the death toll to 2,102.

The recovery rate has jumped up a point to 76-percent.

Data from Public Health Ontario shows another 8,170 tests were done, again well below the target of 20,000 daily tests. Yesterday Ford pleaded with people to get tested, even asymptomatic people who are showing no symptoms but are concerned they may have been exposed.  He said anyone who wants a test will be able to get one at any assessment centre.  A detailed plan from the province on how it will increase testing has been promised this week.
