There are questions and concerns around what is and isn’t permitted when it comes to accomodations as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
The County of Haliburton has been working closely with, and directing questions to, the local health unit and the Minden OPP detachment.
In the county’s regular council meeting Wednesday, it was decided Warden Danielson will write a letter to MPP Scott and Premier Ford, asking for clarity on the issue of when short term rentals and resorts with cabins are allowed to open.
The hope is to encourage a level playing field for all classes of accommodation, with appropriate notice so preparations can be made.
Warden Danielson will also bring the matter to the next meeting of the Eastern Ontario Warden’s Caucus.
