A long waited announcement from the province has Haliburton County receiving 32 thousand dollars for tourism. The Rural Economic Development Program offers the funds to help boost tourism, which will attract more people and investment, leading to more jobs. Director of Tourism Amanda Ranson gave the report to county council that the money will help offset some costs of Hike Haliburton. It will also fund new culinary tourism initiatives she hopes to roll out in the next year.
