Dysart welcomes full time recreation program

The Municipality of Dysart is welcoming a full time recreation coordinator. Council made the decision to hire Andrea Mueller, who’s been running the pilot recreation program for just over a year. Deputy-Reeve Andrea Roberts says they were happy to make the offer and think a permanent recreation program is something the community will be happy about.

Roberts says with the new position, Mueller will be able to accomplish a lot more within the municipality and offer more programming. She explains how they’re hoping to integrate it.

Roberts says Mueller has been able to take stock of to municipality’s assets and use what they already had, like snowshoeing in Glebe Park or the walking group at the arena. She says recreation was an issue that kept coming up during the election and people have the expectation for municipality’s to provide recreation programming. One of the first projects Mueller will be taking on is Chair of Frost Fest.
