The local health unit has issued a requirement for mask use in commercial establishments.
The local Medical Officer of Health says area businesses will have to have a policy in place that requires people to wear a non-medical mask or face covering before entering the commercial ertablishment.
HKPR District Health Unit Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Lynn Noseworthy issued instructions to the owners and operators of commercial businesses currently open during the provinces’s stage 2 for re-opening.
Dr. Noseworthy says that “although they have seen a decline in the number of COVID cases in our area, they want to be sure they continue to see a decrease as they move towards the reopening of more businesses in the province”.
The face covering requirement will come into effect July 13.
