MINDEN, ON-The Haliburton Highlands OPP has confirmed that an investigation is underway following the fatal shooting that occurred yesterday in Haliburton.
The incident yesterday at the Value-Mart, involving a 73-year-old man led police to an address on Indian Point Road in the Eagle Lake area. During the investigation, shots were fired, which caused the responding police to request additional officers.
During the confrontation, the suspect became injured and was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
As a result of notifying the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU), the OPP will not be able to provide any further information.
