Minden is updating their Open Air Fire Bylaw

Minden Hills are updating their Open Air Fire By-law.

The new bylaw includes updated definitions, explanations, exemptions and additional regulations, that aren’t in the current by-law, passed in 2019.

The updated by-law defines a recreational fire and a large agricultural, commercial or industrial fire, and provides the maximum size of an approved fire pit.

During the latest complete county-wide fire ban, there was confusion regarding the use of BBQs. This updated burning bylaw identifies exempted items such as welding, propane or gas BBQs and, training or forestry operations.

Minden council will vote on the updated open air fire by-law at their regular meeting, Thursday July 30.
