Dysart et al in agreement to sell 737 Mountain St. property

Dysart et al is ready to sell property located at 737 Mountain Street, to Community Living Trent Highlands.

In a closed meeting last June, council agreed to present an offer to the not-for-profit board, to purchase the property where they have been long term tenants of the municipality.

The building was originally purchased from the Red Cross Society with an understanding that it would always be an adult group home, and if Dysart were to sell the property, a portion of the proceeds would go back to the Red Cross Society.

Red Cross removed the municipality from this obligation, because the property will continue to be used for its original intention.

Community Living Trent Highlands is a charitable, not-for-profit organization serving the City of Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton County and Peterborough and area.
