Trails and green spaces have seen an increase in usage and have become a valued part of many communities.
The Friends of the Rail Trail are working with consultant Jane McCulloch, who presented via Vimeo to county council yesterday.
The purpose is for the county to recognize the rail trail as a “Linear Park”, during COVID-19 and into economic recovery. The consultant says the definition of linear park can be “whatever you want it to be”.
The current goals for the Rail Trail are; recognition of the values of the Haliburton County Rail Trail, bringing together a diverse set of partners, and building on the opportunities and challenges of COVID-19. County council accepted the presentation.
