Ontario adds 3,266 new COVID-19 cases

Ontario is reporting 3,266 new COVID-19 cases.

Sixty-four per cent of Wednesday’s cases are in the hotspots around the GTHA and Waterloo.

The new cases bring the total number of those seen in the province since the start of the pandemic to over 200,000.

Over 51,045 tests were processed over the last day in Ontario but a backlog of 55,484 remains.

Another 37 people have died from COVID-19 in Ontario bringing the provincial death toll to 4,767.

The number of tests coming back with positive results, known as test positivty, is at 8.5 per cent, down from 9.4 per cent on Tuesday.
