The local health unit reported no new cases of COVID-19 in the County of Haliburton on Tuesday.

Three more residents recovered from the virus, placing Haliburton’s active case count at six with one more local screening positive for a variant of concern today.

Even though the variants of concern have been counted in the data today it takes two weeks for the results to return from the lab and these cases have already been counted in previous daily case counts.

13 cases were added district-wide by the health unit today, 10 in Northumberland and three in Kawartha lakes.

The health unit administered over 9,100 first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine to residents and 85 second-doses over the last week.

As of Monday, a little under half of those 45 to 64 years, over 75 percent of those 65 to 79 and over 60 percent of those 80 and over in Haliburton have received at least one shot of a vaccine.
