HKPRDHU offering Urgent Immunization Booking to Haliburton businesses

The local health unit is offering Haliburton businesses another option to getting vaccinated.

The Downtown Haliburton BIA was informed that anyone seeking their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine can be put on an Urgent Immunization Booking list.

The list is for any doses that become available towards the end of a vaccine clinic day.  When this happens, the health unit calls people to see if they can come immediately to the clinic to be vaccinated.

If you or your staff or workers would like to be added to the list, please complete the Urgent Immunization Booking Template (click here to download) and send to [email protected] as soon as possible, or by Thursday at the latest.

When filling the form, please be sure that anyone who is on this list has given their consent, and that they want the first dose of vaccine.

This list is for first doses only, as such those seeking second doses should not be on this list.

Health unit staff will only call those on the list if there are doses left at the end of the day. Staff will not leave messages if a call goes to voicemail and calls will be displayed as ‘Unknown Caller’.

The urgent nature of the call means you will need to be able to get to the clinic within 2 hours or less, usually mid to late afternoon.

If you get a call and are unable to get to the clinic, your name will be kept on the list for future opportunities.

In addition, the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health unit said being on this list will not affect your ability to book an appointment online.
