Sir Sam’s Ski and Ride on Eagle Lake officially has new owners.
Previous owners, the Bishop Family, announced the sale of the business to the Wilkinson Family on Tuesday.
Kicking and sliding since the sixties, Sir Sam’s Ski and Ride earned the reputation of being one of the best family-friendly skiing experiences in the area.
In the announcement of the sale, the Bishops thanked customers, suppliers, tradespeople, and the thousands of dedicated staff with whom they worked for almost six decades.
“We could not have done this without your support. Our Father and Mother, Bob and Noreen had a dream and a vision all those years ago to create a winter skiing facility that would promote Haliburton and Eagle Lake as a winter destination and that it would become an economic driver for the entire Haliburton Highlands. They accomplished this goal.” they said.
The Bishops said they will be working with the Wilkinson Family this winter to help with the transition.
They wished the Wilkinson Family all the best and said they look forward to the new changes being made including the Chalet renovations and the new food experience “Rhubarb on the Hill” opening in early December.
