Big Brothers Big Sisters is hoping for some community support in their upcoming fundraiser. The Bowl for Kids’ Sake event is on February 28 and last year they raised 25 thousand dollars. Executive Director Jim DeFlorio says it was substantially lower than their goal which was 42 thousand dollars. He says the event is their biggest fundraiser of the year, so they rely on the money raised so they can offer the mentoring programs to kids in our community.

DeFlorio says they’re still in need of volunteers in Haliburton County with ten children on the waiting list.
