News Active COVID-19 case count up to 36 in Haliburton after holidays SHARE ON: Mathew Reisler, staff Thursday, Dec. 30th, 2021 Photo credit: Pixabay.com In the past week, 26 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Haliburton by our health unit. The Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR) now shows 36 active cases in our region. Since the pandemic started, 205 cases have been confirmed in Haliburton with 168 now marked as resolved. In total, four people have been hospitalized with the virus locally and one person has died. There are nine outbreaks being reported by HKPR. All of them are located in Northumberland County.
