An organization that promotes tourism in the region has been awarded for its work.
The Ontario Highlands Tourism Organization, which includes Haliburton County, won the 2022 Ontario Tourism Resiliency Award for Sustainability. The award recognizes a series of stories called Our Connections, which profiled several people who are working on unique projects that boost tourism.
The campaign also put a focus on diversity and equity. OHTO Marketing Director Julie Mulligan called the award “an honour” and said the series hoped to “inspire local residents and visitors.”
