OPP’s “Fill a Cruiser” to support food banks in Haliburton, Minden

The Haliburton Highlands OPP Auxiliary Unit is asking the community to “fill a cruiser” this weekend.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, members of the detachment will be at four locations asking for food donations. All of the donations will be to food banks in the area.

Provincial Constable Michael Melnykchuk says they will be at Park’s Foodland from 10 to noon and Todd’s Independent Grocer from 1 to 3 in the afternoon in Haliburton. They will also be at Easton’s Valu-Mart from 10 to noon and Dollo’s Foodland from 1 to 3 in the afternoon in Minden.

“Participating stores will also be making up bags with items that are needed by the food banks, that you can purchase and then donate, or you can make a cash donation,” explains Melnykchuk. “All food items stay in the communities where they are collected.”
