Algonquin Highlands snowmobile crash claims life of American man

Haliburton Highlands OPP is investigating a fatal snowmobile crash in Algonquin Highlands.

Police say around 10:40 p.m. Friday, a single snowmobile crashed into a tree on Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs Top Trail B, between Little Hawk and Big Hawk Lake.

Officials say the lone rider, a 37-year-old U.S. national from Lancaster, New York, was pronounced dead at the scene.
