Minden Hills residents could be looking at a 5.9 per cent increase in taxes this year. According to the most recent draft of this year’s budget, about 4 per cent of that is coming from the new policing costs. CAO and Treasurer Lorrie Blanchard says the rest of the increase is coming from growth and inflation. After this week’s meeting, council asked for a few more changes from staff, which could impact the budget by a few thousand dollars. The changes will be made and another draft will come forward to council.
