Board of Health to discuss Bill C626 at today’s meeting

A few items are on the agenda today for the HKPR District Health Unit’s Board of Health meeting. They’ll be talking about recent action in the House of Commons on the private member’s bill to restore mandatory long form census – Bill C-626. The bill didn’t pass a second reading earlier this month, but the board will be discussing responses from the Prime Minister’s office and our local MP, Barry Devolin. Also on the agenda, members will be looking at the 2015 budget and will be discussing the report on the ‘Rethink Health – Working with Municipalities’ campaign. The meeting is this morning at ten o’clock in Port Hope.
