More decisions about the changes to the Dorset landfill site are being made. At yesterday’s council meeting, Algonquin Highlands councilors talked about changing the landfill to a transfer site later this year. Cambium gave a report suggesting the Township transfer waste to the Maple Lake landfill for the first year to figure out just how much waste will need to be transferred every year. After that, council agreed to reassess to determine if it will save more money to transfer waste outside of the municipality, or keep it internal.
