A policy for community grants and waiving fees in Minden Hills has been deferred. Council wanted the policy made after 60 thousand dollars was on the budget for community grant requests. At yesterday’s council meeting, Reeve Brent Devolin said the policy still needs some work, but they agreed to approve six cash donations for a total of 17 thousand dollars. The policy is expected to be finalized in April. The following is the list of organizations receiving the cash donations:
- Community Care – $4,000
- Minden Food Bank – $3,500
- Minden Horticultural Society – $2,000
- Point-in-Time Rec. Summer Program – $2,000
- Feral Cats (one time only) – $3,000
- U-Links – $2,500
