The ceremony to honour Thomas Chambers is happening in Haliburton’s village square today. Chambers was the first Fire Chief for the municipality in 1946 who died on this day 59 years ago, fighting a fire on main street. Dysart’s fire department will be unveiling a plaque to commemorate Chambers’ contribution to the community. The ceremony is happening at one o’clock.
