Kawartha Lakes OPP offer child identification initiative

A Child Identification Initiative through the OPP will help save valuable time when it comes to finding a missing child, and it’s being offered locally. Tomorrow, the Lindsay OPP detachment is inviting parents to bring their children so they can fill out a form that will include important ID information.

Constable Carrie Lanning says the OPP has a procedure that involves filling out a lot of information when someone goes missing, so this form will save a lot of time.

You can stop by the detachment, located at 3028 Highway 35, any time between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Lanning says it’s also a great opportunity for kids to meet the officers and talk about strangers and what to do if they got lost. The hope is that parents will also take the time to talk to their kids about the danger of strangers.
