Five thousand dollars giving Woodlands Wildlife Sanctuary much needed shelter

Five thousand dollars in grant money is the answer to a lot of prayers at the Woodlands Wildlife Sanctuary. Operator Monika Melichar says they’ve been in need of a new building for a long time, and now the money will help them buy a portable classroom for an ICU.

The money came from an application they put in to the Aviva Community Fund, and even though the Sanctuary placed second, the fund decided at the last minute not to put the money into any wildlife organizations. So the five thousand dollars was awarded for being one of the finalists.

Melichar says they are actively looking for volunteers to help with their organization. If you’re interested, you can go to their website for more information.
